Routing in Graphs with Applications to Material Flow Problems
نویسنده
چکیده
Material flow problems are complex logistic optimization problems. We want to utilize the available logistic network in such a way that the load is minimized or the throughput is maximized. This lecture deals with these optimization problems from the viewpoint of network flow theory and reports on two industrial applications: (1) contolling material flow with automated guided vehicles in a container terminal (cooperation with HHLA), and (2) timetabling in public transport (cooperation with Deutsche Bahn and Berlin Public Transport). The key ingredient for (1) is a very fast real-time algorithm which avoids collisions, deadlocks, and other conflicts already at route computation, while for (2) it is the use of integer programs based on special bases of the cycle space of the routing graph.

متن کاملModel and Solution Approach for Multi objective-multi commodity Capacitated Arc Routing Problem with Fuzzy Demand
The capacitated arc routing problem (CARP) is one of the most important routing problems with many applications in real world situations. In some real applications such as urban waste collection and etc., decision makers have to consider more than one objective and investigate the problem under uncertain situations where required edges have demand for more than one type of commodity. So, in thi...
متن کاملGenerating an Indoor space routing graph using semantic-geometric method
The development of indoor Location-Based Services faces various challenges that one of which is the method of generating indoor routing graph. Due to the weaknesses of purely geometric methods for generating indoor routing graphs, a semantic-geometric method is proposed to cover the existing gaps in combining the semantic and geometric methods in this study. The proposed method uses the CityGML...
متن کاملApplication of Chaos Theory in Hazardous Material Transportation
Risk factors are generally defined and assigned to road networks, as constant measures in hazmat routing problems. In fact, they may be dynamic variables depending on traffic volume, weather and road condition, and drivers' behavior. In this research work, risk factors are defined as dynamic variables using the concept of chaos theory. The largest Lyapunov exponent is utilized to determine the ...

The heterogeneous fixed fleet open vehicle routing problem (HFFOVRP) is one of the most significant extension problems of the open vehicle routing problem (OVRP). The HFFOVRP is the problem of designing collection routes to a number of predefined nodes by a fixed fleet number of vehicles with various capacities and related costs. In this problem, the vehicle doesn’t return to the depot after se...
